JOB TITLE: Southern Yellow Pine Lumber Trader

SUMMARY: Daily contact with members and vendors. Responsible for contributing to corporate objectives and achievements by the purchasing and marketing management of assigned products. This position is responsible for 20 or more members at any given time.

▸Responsible for complete account management for 20+ members.
▸Handle all duties related to basic Trader functions: order generation, confirmations, shipment mechanics, follow up, trace and status reports.
▸Assist members in sourcing products from the vendors with the best value proposition.
▸Monitor vendor acknowledgements for pricing, freight, discounts, etc.
▸While actively pursuing product and industry related knowledge, trader should proactively engage in outbound phone work to the member / vendor community designed to increase sales / cost of goods penetration / overall support of the co-op.
▸Communicate with membership, using print, electronic and voice means on a daily basis regarding market moves / changes.
▸Maintain viable relationships with select LBM Advantage vendors/members to attract stronger programs, sales volumes, and offerings.
▸Handle all Trader / Vendor / Member issues, including conflicts, claims, late shipments etc.
▸Resolve billing issues and make independent decisions during the resolution with the parties involved.
▸Provide input for newsletter and website (Market Conditions and Offerings).
▸Continually strive to upgrade / increase one’s knowledge base pertaining to our products, business and industry.
▸Travel to shows, members, and vendors as required.
▸Proactively promote LBM Advantage’s suppliers to the membership.
▸Maintain current detailed information in the member profile system.
▸Performs other related duties as required.

▸Time Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
▸Strong customer service orientation.
▸Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
▸Computer proficiency ( Excel and Word a must )

▸High school diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
▸Minimum 3 years of buying / purchasing experience required, same or similar field a plus
▸Industry experience strongly preferred
